These chocolate dipped Halloween Pretzels are an adorable and addicting holiday treat.. we can’t get enough of the sweet and salty crunch. They’ll make a perfect addition to your Halloween spread!
Adorably Spooky Halloween Treat
I had a lot of fun creating these Halloween Chocolate Dipped Pretzels! Not only are they pretty fool-proof, but they come together really quick with just a few ingredients. And they are insanely addictive. I don’t know many people that are able to resist the sweet, salty, and crunchy appeal of chocolate pretzels. And this adorable Halloween variation is no exception! They are perfect for Halloween parties, gifting, or goodie trays. And they made the cutest addition to our Halloween charcuterie board!
All the ingredients are widely available at most grocery stores. Originally, the recipe called for colored chocolate wafers. These are convenient, but can be a lot harder to find. So we opted for using chocolate bark and food coloring. A bit of coconut oil helps the chocolate melt smoothly and makes it a lot easier to work with. And we kept the decorations super simple. So get the kids in the kitchen and let’s start baking!
Ingredients You’ll Need to Make These Halloween Pretzels:
- Mini Pretzel Twists
- Mini Square Pretzels
- Almond Bark
- Coconut Oil
- Mini Candy Eyes
- Green M&Ms
- Chocolate Sprinkles
- Green and Orange Food Coloring
- OR: Orange and Green Chocolate Melts
How to Make Chocolate Dipped Halloween Pretzels
- Melt the chocolate. Chop the chocolate block into small pieces. Place into three separate microwave-safe bowls and melt according to the package directions until smooth. Add green food coloring to one bowl and orange food coloring to another. Alternately, you can use colored chocolate melts.
- Dip the pretzels. Using a fork, dip the pretzel twists into the orange and white chocolate and the square pretzels into the green chocolate.
- Make pumpkin pretzels. For the pumpkin pretzels, add a green M&M to the top to resemble a stem. Sprinkle with orange sugar sprinkles if desired.
- Make the frankenstein pretzels. For the frankenstein pretzels, add two small candy eyes and top with chocolate pretzels for hair.
- Make the mummy pretzels. To make the mummy pretzels, add two candy eyes. Dip the tines of a fork into the melted chocolate and drizzle it back and forth over the pretzels.
Tips & Suggestions
Avoid overheating the chocolate. You want to melt your chocolate for short intervals, stirring well in between, just until the chocolate is melted. Otherwise you risk your chocolate seizing or burning. If it starts to solidify while you are dipping your pretzels, simply add the chocolate back to the microwave for another 15 seconds or so until nice and melted.
Don’t wait too long to add your toppings. The chocolate hardens pretty quickly, so I only like to dip about 4-5 pretzels at a time before adding decorations.
Storing leftover Halloween Pretzels. Store dipped pretzels in an airtight container for up to two weeks. These are a great treat to make ahead of time for holiday parties!
Why do you add coconut oil to the chocolate? The coconut oil is optional, but it makes the chocolate much smoother and easier to work with. You just need a little bit, and you can’t taste it at all!
