I appreciate producing stained glass crafts with my daycare youngsters, and we’ve completed it in lots of distinct approaches more than the years – with Sharpies, tinfoil, make contact with paper, and even bottle lids.
The other day, soon after producing this tissue paper stained glass project for CBC Parents, I wanted to build a comparable project a lot more appropriate for my older youngsters. These popsicle stick and tissue paper “stained glass” stars are what I came up with.
Aren’t they beautiful?
Paint your sticks for an genuine appear
I wanted them to appear as genuine as achievable, so I painted the stir sticks black, to resemble the lead utilised in genuine stained glass art, and WOW, at a glance, you would swear these stars had been created of actual stained glass.
See all of our popsicle stick ornaments right here.
I’ve hung them in the window above my desk, and I just appreciate how they brighten up the space now that winter has set in and the skies are so dark and dreary.
Can be utilised as a tree ornament
I also tested the stars on the Christmas tree to see if they would perform as Christmas ornaments, and they appear so beautiful with the Christmas lights shining via.
Seriously. Doesn’t that appear specifically like true stained glass?!
The tissue paper is delicate even though, so you will want to safeguard the backs of the stars with some wax paper or make contact with paper if you will be utilizing them as ornaments.
I only created two stars, but I feel this would be it would be enjoyable to make a bunch and fill a entire window in your dwelling or classroom.
I just appreciate the cheery pop of colour they add to the area when the winter skies are grey and dreary.
Great craft for ages 8+
This craft is pretty uncomplicated to make, but it does call for sophisticated fine-motor expertise, so I would propose it for the 8+ age group.
